D.El.Ed. Admission Overview

Applying for the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) at Midnapore Institute of Education (MIE) is a centralized, merit-based process. The program is a 2-year regular professional course, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE), Kolkata.

Securing a seat requires meeting the minimum academic eligibility criteria in your Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent board examination, participating in online WBBPE admissions registration, and finalizing enrollment upon merit publication. Follow our step-by-step guide below to successfully complete your application.

1. Check Your Eligibility

Before initiating the application, please ensure you satisfy the following WBBPE and NCTE eligibility guidelines:

Academic Qualification
Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board/Council/University.
Minimum Marks
At least 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination (Class 12th). A relaxation of 5% marks (minimum 45% in aggregate) is allowed for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PwD candidates.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 38 years for General Category candidates, with relaxation of up to 43 years for SC/ST and OBC candidates, and 45 years for PwD candidates.

2. Step-by-Step Application Process

We provide comprehensive assistance to candidates during the admission and registration cycle. The application process consists of the following key stages:

Registration & Initial Inquiry

Submit an online inquiry via our website or visit the campus admission desk. Our counselors will verify your academic credentials (marks sheets of 10th and 12th) to confirm your eligibility.

WBBPE Online Portal Registration

Register on the official WBBPE (West Bengal Board of Primary Education) portal when the admissions window opens. Upload required certificates and choose Midnapore Institute of Education as your preferred college.

Merit List Publication

WBBPE will release college-wise merit lists based on your 10+2 aggregate. If your name appears on our institutional merit list, download the allotment letter / admission slip.

Campus Verification & Fee Payment

Report to our campus with your allotment slip and all original certificates. After successful physical verification, secure your admission by paying the first installment of the course fee.

3. Checklist of Required Documents

Candidates must submit 3 sets of self-attested photocopies of the following documents at the time of verification, along with the original certificates for physical verification:

  • 3 copies of Madhyamik / Class 10th Admit Card & Marksheet (as age proof)
  • 3 copies of Higher Secondary / Class 12th Marksheet & Certificate
  • Original Migration Certificate (for candidates from boards outside West Bengal)
  • 8 copies of recent passport-size colored photographs
  • Valid Aadhaar Card or Voter ID Card (as identity and address proof)
  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B) issued by the competent West Bengal authority (if applicable)
  • PwD Certificate from competent medical authority (if applicable)

Course Fee & Installment Plan

The total course fee for the D.El.Ed. program at Midnapore Institute of Education is 60,000.00. For the convenience of our students, the fee is payable in 4 flexible installments over the 2-year duration of the course:

  • 1st Installment (At Admission): 20,000.00
  • 2nd Installment: 15,000.00
  • 3rd Installment: 15,000.00
  • 4th Installment: 10,000.00
