Minimum Academic Qualification

As per NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations 2014 and WBBPE (formerly WBBPE) admission guidelines, candidates must fulfil the following minimum academic qualifications to be eligible for the D.El.Ed. programme:

Higher Secondary (10+2)
Passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognised Board/Council with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
SC / ST (West Bengal)
Minimum 45% marks in aggregate at the 10+2 level (5% relaxation as per state government norms).
OBC-A / OBC-B / PwD (West Bengal)
Minimum 45% marks in aggregate at the 10+2 level (5% relaxation as per state government norms).
Age Limit
Maximum 35 years for General candidates. (38 years for OBC/PH, 40 years for SC/ST).
Selection Process
Admission is primarily Merit-Based on 10+2 marks, managed through the centralised WBBPE counselling portal.

Language Subjects

Candidates must have studied at least two languages at the 10+2 level, one of which must be the medium of instruction of the Institute (Bengali/English).
