What is the B.Ed. Program?

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a two-year professional degree program regulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU), formerly WBUTTEPA, in West Bengal. It is a mandatory qualification for teaching at the secondary and senior secondary levels in government and private schools across India.

At Midnapore Institute of Education (MIE), we implement the B.Ed. curriculum with a focus on experiential learning, school internship, and the development of 21st-century teaching competencies. Our program is designed not merely to create teachers, but to develop reflective practitionerswho understand the complex dynamics of child development, diverse learning needs, and the evolving Indian educational landscape.

Who Can Join?

Any graduate or postgraduate from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks(45% for SC/ST candidates) is eligible to apply. The program is open to graduates from Arts, Science, Commerce, and professional streams. Admission is conducted through the state-level WBBPE / WBUTTEPA counseling process.

Career Prospects

Government School Teacher

Qualify for TET (SSC or CTET) and apply for state government school posts through WBCSSC.

Private School Educator

Teach at CBSE, ICSE, or State Board private schools across India. B.Ed. is a mandatory requirement.

Academic Administration
