B.Ed. Admission Overview

Applying for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at Midnapore Institute of Education (MIE) is a structured process. The program is a 2-year regular professional course, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU), Kolkata (formerly WBUTTEPA).

Securing a seat requires meeting the minimum academic eligibility criteria, submitting necessary documents for counseling, and finalizing enrollment through state-level counseling pathways. Follow our step-by-step guide below to successfully complete your application.

1. Check Your Eligibility

Before initiating the application, please ensure you satisfy the following NCTE and university eligibility guidelines:

Academic Qualification
Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Science, Social Sciences, Humanities, or Commerce from a recognized University.
Minimum Marks
At least 50% marks in aggregateeither in Bachelor's Degree or in Master's Degree. A relaxation of 5% marks (minimum 45%) is allowed for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Engineering/Technology Graduates
Candidates with a Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics must secure at least 55% marks.

2. Step-by-Step Application Process

We provide comprehensive assistance to candidates during the admission and registration cycle. The application process consists of the following key stages:

Registration & Initial Inquiry

Submit an online inquiry via our website or visit the campus admission desk. Our counselors will verify your academic credentials (marks sheets of 10th, 12th, and Graduation) to confirm your eligibility.

Counseling Portal Registration

Register on the official BSAEU (Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University) centralized online counseling portal when the admissions window opens. Choose Midnapore Institute of Education as your first-preference college.

Document Verification at MIE

Report to our campus with your counseling allotment slip and all original academic certificates for a thorough physical document verification by the college admission committee.

Final Enrollment & Fee Payment

Upon successful verification, secure your admission by paying the first installment of the course fee at the accounts office. Collect your official admission letter and MIE Student Identity Card.

3. Checklist of Required Documents

Candidates must submit 3 sets of self-attested photocopies of the following documents at the time of verification, along with the original certificates for physical verification:

  • 3 copies of Madhyamik / Class 10th Admit Card & Marksheet (as age proof)
  • 3 copies of Higher Secondary / Class 12th Marksheet & Certificate
  • 3 copies of all-year / semester Marksheets of Graduation (UG)
  • 3 copies of Post-Graduation (PG) Marksheets and Certificate (if applicable)
  • Original Migration Certificate (for candidates from universities other than BSAEU)
  • 8 copies of recent passport-size colored photographs
  • Valid Aadhaar Card or Voter ID Card (as identity and address proof)
  • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B) issued by the competent West Bengal authority (if applicable)

Course Fee & Installment Plan

The total course fee for the B.Ed. program at Midnapore Institute of Education is ₹70,000.00. For the convenience of our students, the fee is payable in 4 flexible installments over the 2-year duration of the course:

  • 1st Installment (At Admission): ₹25,000.00
  • 2nd Installment: ₹15,000.00
  • 3rd Installment: ₹15,000.00
  • 4th Installment: ₹15,000.00
